Wellbeing Outreach Support
Growing up is a time of huge change, uncertainty and is not easy, even if things are going well.
In an increasingly complex world many young people feel overwhelmed and struggle at some point. What can begin as normal fears, anxieties and stress can become more complex mental health issues very quickly.
Not all young people want to go to see a counsellor or therapist even if they are not feeling okay for a variety of reasons.
Wellbeing outreach might work better for them.
Wellbeing outreach is a combination of therapeutic mentoring, practical and emotional support, befriending and key working provided on an outreach basis.
It meets the young person where they are most comfortable and builds the relationship from there, with a view to empowering the young person to work through their issues to make the changes they want to make in their lives.
Each young person is assessed on an individual basis to ensure that the young person gets the support that will most benefit them.
Leaving Inpatient Care
I offer this type of support to young people who might have had to spend time in inpatient psychiatric care.
Leaving a unit after time as an inpatient can be a time of many anxieties and mixed feelings for young people and their families.
It is also a very vulnerable time. 24/7 support suddenly reduces and falls back to the family.
Long term recovery continues long after discharge.
I am experienced working with depression, anxiety, dissociative issues, self-harm, suicidal ideation, eating disorders and social anxiety.
Parents and Families
Children don't come with a manual and bringing up children in an increasingly complex and busy world can be a struggle.
The pressures on parents, children and families are huge.
I have over a decade of experience as an early years educator, nurture group practitioner, nanny and parent consultant, supporting children and families. In addition I trained in parent/child relationship therapy and have begun my DDP (dyadic developmental psychotherapy) training.
My aim is to support and empower parents and families to navigate the challenges they face with their children through a bespoke approach, tailored to each families presenting needs and identified goals in your own home.
